Army Blocks First Negotiation Round and Obstructs Ceasefire to Save Besieged El Fasher.   A deal was offered to U.S. on Mining Rights in Exchange for Pressure on RSF- Khartoum Highlight.

The Sudanese Armed Forces delegation has blocked the first negotiation round and a draft framework agreement proposed by the International Quartet. The proposal included a three-month ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid delivery, especially to El Fasher. Reliable sources in Washington told Khartoum Highlight that the army delegation refused to sign a comprehensive humanitarian truce across Sudan. The truce aimed mainly to help civilians trapped in El Fasher, under a tight RSF siege. The city faces severe famine, forcing residents to eat livestock fodder known as Um-Baz as their main food.

Same sources revealed that the de facto government’s delegation in Port Sudan, led by the foreign minister, focused on striking a “deal” with Washington. This offer included major mining concessions and access to Sudan’s Red Sea coast. The goal was to appease President Donald Trump’s administration and secure U.S. pressure on the Rapid Support Forces to lift El Fasher siege. However, the delegation resisted reaching a humanitarian ceasefire agreement.
