UN Welcomes First Aid Convoy to South Kordofan -Khartoum Highlight
The United Nations welcomed recent progress in delivering humanitarian aid to South Kordofan, Sudan. A UNICEF convoy successfully reached Dilling with relief supplies. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said this was the first major UN aid delivery to the area since October 2024. He added that the convoy will continue to Kadugli, the state capital. UNICEF also delivered 5.8 million doses of oral polio vaccine to the vaccination center in El Geneina, West Darfur. The doses aim to protect 2.3 million children under five in 65 localities across the five Darfur states. The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public health and prevent disease in the region.
