The Port Sudan authority rejected the Quartet’s plan, saying the war targets the Sudanese people who alone will decide. The Quartet proposed a nine-month transition, a three-month humanitarian truce, and excluding extremists from shaping Sudan’s future. Port Sudan leaders said rebel drones struck infrastructure hours after the Quartet called for peace and a ceasefire.
According to their statement, drones targeted Um Dabakir power station, fuel depots, and Kenanah civilian airport in White Nile state. Residents of Kosti reported drone attacks at dawn on the city, as well as Rabak and Kenanah, causing loud explosions. They confirmed drones hit railway buildings, fuel depots, and river transport offices in Kosti, sparking widespread panic.
