Cholera Outbreak Sweeps Dreib Al-Reeh in South Darfur

5 Cholera Cases and 1 Death in 48 Hours

 

Khartoum Highlight – Cholera Outbreak is rapidly spreading in Sudan,  Dreib Al-Reeh Emergency Room in South Darfur confirmed five cholera cases. Including one death, in just 48 hours. Officials warned of a wider cholera outbreak in Beliel locality, which includes the area, amid a complete lack of IV fluids and essential medicines. On April 15, 2023, a brutal war erupted between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. It has killed and displaced millions of Sudanese and caused the world’s largest humanitarian disaster. The Dreib Al-Reeh Emergency Room called on humanitarian organizations to provide urgent aid and deliver medicines and IV fluids to combat the deadly epidemic outbreak. Epidemic spreads quickly in areas lacking clean water and sanitation, increasing the risk of infection.
