Israel Approves Plan to “Erase” the Idea of a Palestinian State

Khartoum Highlight – Reuters – Israel Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced on Wednesday that a controversial settlement plan, widely condemned internationally, has received final approval. The plan targets land that Palestinians seek for a future state. Smotrich said approval was granted for the E1 project. Which will effectively split the occupied West Bank and cut it off from East Jerusalem. The announcement came after Israel Defense Ministry’s planning committee granted its final authorization . The plan calls for the construction of around 3,400 housing units.  In the so-called E1 area, a stretch of land between East Jerusalem and the Ma’ale Adumim settlement.
