The UN ,Arab and European states condemned Israel’s airstrike targeting homes in Qatar’s capital, Doha. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called the attack on Hamas leaders in Doha a “blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.” Saudi King Salman expressed solidarity with Qatar, condemning Israel’s strike. UAE’s FM Abdullah bin Zayed called it “cowardly.” Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait denounced the attack, stressing full Gulf solidarity with Doha against Israeli aggression. Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Sudan’s de facto authorities, and Norway’s foreign ministry also condemned Israel’s strike on Qatar.
Qatar said the Israeli attack on Hamas political bureau members’ residences in Doha was reckless and dangerous behavior. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said the “criminal assault” violates international law and threatens civilians. The statement stressed Qatar “will not tolerate this reckless Israeli conduct,” adding “we will not tolerate threats to our sovereignty.” The Israeli army said it targeted Hamas leadership in Doha. Hamas confirmed Israel struck its delegation during ceasefire talks. A Hamas source told Al Jazeera the movement’s delegation, led by Khalil Al-Hayya, survived the Israeli assassination attempt.
