Heavy Rainsand Flash Floods Hit Nile River, Khartoum and Northern States Meteorology Warns of More Rainfall Across Several Regions
Khartoum Highlight – Heavy Rains and flash floods swept through wide areas of Khartoum, River Nile, and parts of the Northern State in recent hours. Videos circulating online showed torrents of floodwaters inundating several areas. While activists mourned residents in River Nile State who were reported to have died due to the flooding and heavy rainfall.
The Sudanese Meteorological Authority issued an orange warning cautioning of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds . Effected State is southern and western Northern State, North Kordofan, northeastern ,southern Kordofan, central and southern North Darfur. Floodwaters from Khor Abu Dom blocked several roads. Halting movement on the internal route . And forcing traffic to be diverted exclusively to the Abu Dom bridge on the national highway.
