Microsoft: Service Slowdown Caused by Red Sea Fiber Cuts- Khartoum Highlight – Reuters
Microsoft Service (MSFT.O) announced that users of “Microsoft Azure” may face increased delays due to multiple undersea fiber cuts in the Red Sea. In an updated Azure status message, the company said users may experience service disruptions on routes passing through the Middle East. “We expect higher latency for data previously routed through the Middle East. Other network traffic remains unaffected,” Microsoft said. The company added: “We will continue to provide daily updates, or earlier if conditions change.” Due to the disruption, Azure, the world’s second-largest cloud service provider after Amazon (AMZN.O), rerouted traffic via alternative network paths. Microsoft confirmed that network traffic was not interrupted despite the fiber cuts.
