Armed Robberies Surge in Omdurman
Armed Robberies Surge in Omdurman – Khartoum Highlight
Residents in Omdurman reported rising armed robberies amid worsening insecurity and widespread weapons across the capital. Locals in Al-Abbasiya neighborhood said robberies now occur frequently in alleys during evening hours. Resistance-linked “Abbasiya Tigers” posted on Facebook that armed groups on motorbikes loot citizens and shops. They said robberies extend to Al-Arbaeen Street, urging security forces to intervene immediately. On Monday, gunmen attacked Souq 6 in Mayo, south Khartoum, detonating a grenade and looting shops. The growing lawlessness reflects the capital’s collapse into chaos following the April 15 war.
