A merchant was killed and an employee was assaulted at Al-Kouda School in Omdurman.
Khartoum Highlight – Khartoum is living under fear as armed gangs spread like wildfire, threatening the lives of innocent civilians daily. The latest incident was the killing of young shop owner Hassan Ahmed Hassan in Omdurman’s Abu Rouf neighborhood. He was attacked by the “Niggers” gang while bravely defending his store and livelihood against armed assailants. Earlier, a female employee at Abuzar Al-Kouda School in Omdurman was robbed by armed men in broad daylight.
Dozens of similar incidents highlight the spread of violent crime and the alarming absence of law enforcement in the city. The situation is worsened by security cells carrying out arrests of activists and volunteers, fueling political instability. Since the war between the army and Rapid Support Forces on April 15, 2023, Sudan has seen rampant chaos and insecurity. The proliferation of weapons and lawlessness has left civilians as the main victims of daily violence and armed attacks. Many citizens are now calling for the strict application of hudud punishment for banditry (harabah) as a solution. They demand tougher security measures to dismantle gangs that have terrorized Khartoum and endangered countless lives.
