WHO: Severe Health Deterioration for Thousands Trapped in El-Fasher- Khartoum Highlight

The Director of the World Health Organization  announced a severe health crisis in El-Fasher, Sudan. El-Fasher has been under siege for more than 500 days, leaving 260,000 people in urgent need of medical assistance. The situation includes 5,000 suspected cholera cases, nearly 100 reported deaths, and 130,000 children suffering from malnutrition without access to sufficient food. Many survivors of sexual violence also face major challenges in receiving healthcare and psychological support. According to WHO: Severe Health Deterioration because , 35 health facilities have been destroyed, and medical supplies have already run out. However, additional stocks remain stored in Nyala and can be transported to El-Fasher at any moment. The WHO Director stressed the urgent need for humanitarian access to the region, warning that lives are at stake if aid continues to be blocked.
