Emergency Lawyers : Bombing of Yashfin Clinic in Nyala Is a War Crime – Khartoum Highlight
“Emergency Lawyers” group condemned the airstrike that targeted Yashfin Medical Clinic in Nyala, South Darfur, last Saturday. The attack was carried out by a drone belonging to the Sudanese army, according to the group’s statement. The bombing killed dozens of civilians and medical staff inside the clinic. Four women were also killed nearby. The strike destroyed Al-Moallem Hotel adjacent to the clinic, leaving extensive destruction in the area.
The group demanded accountability for all those responsible for the attack. It called for urgent measures to ensure the protection of hospitals, medical workers, and patients. Emergency Lawyers described the strike as a “full-fledged war crime.” They stressed that the Geneva Conventions strictly prohibit targeting medical facilities. The Civil Democratic Alliance of the Forces of the Revolution, “Somoud,” also condemned the bombing. The alliance described the incident as a new tragedy added to the endless record of war. It called for accountability for the perpetrators and urged all warring parties to avoid civilian and service sites.
