Security Cell Targets Anti-War Activists
Federal Gathering: Security Cell Operates from Dissolved Party Headquarters
Khartoum Highlight – The Federal Gathering condemned the Security Cell in Khartoum for arresting and torturing anti-war activists. The Security Cell targets citizens and members of Resistance Committees through organized campaigns.
In a Sunday statement, the group said the campaigns aim to silence voices calling for an end to the war. Activists are tracked in neighborhoods through local informants, then arrested and taken to the dissolved National Congress Party headquarters, where they face torture and humiliation.
The statement stressed that such actions constitute a blatant violation of Sudan’s constitution and laws, as well as a serious breach of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The Federal Gathering demanded the immediate halt of these campaigns, the unconditional release of all detainees. Along with an independent, transparent investigation under the supervision of both local and international human rights bodies.
