Saudi Arabia Urges Implementation of Jeddah Declaration

Khartoum Highlight – Saudi Arabia called on Sudan’s warring parties to honor the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023. It stressed the need to protect civilians and ensure safe corridors for humanitarian aid. Riyadh condemned the attack on three World Food Programme trucks.  It reaffirmed its rejection of all threats to the safety of civilians and humanitarian workers. According to several accusations, the Sudanese army used drones to strike an aid convoy in Mellit, North Darfur. The convoy was carrying relief supplies for civilians.
