Alaa Al-Din Naqd: Hemedti–Boulos Meeting Is a “Media Rumors”
Al-Burhan is a puppet in the hands of Islamists
Khartoum Highlight – Spokesman of Tasis government, Alaa Al-Din Naqd, denied any meeting between Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and U.S. envoy Massad Boulos , describing such claims as “media rumors.” He told Khartoum Highlight that negotiation remains the only way to stop the war. But it must differ from past rounds “sabotaged by the terrorist National Congress Party through its control of the army.”
On reports about Presidential Council head Dagalo traveling to Switzerland to meet Polus, Naqd said: “No meeting took place. These are only media rumors.” Regarding the alleged meeting between Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the U.S. envoy in Switzerland, Naqd said: “What are the outcomes. If the meeting itself remains secret? Why this secrecy from Al-Burhan?” He added: “Is he afraid of Islamists and the National Congress Party?. Then they clearly control the armed forces, Al-Burhan, and other commanders.”
Naqd : The army is the Islamists’ army:
Naqd accused Al-Burhan of lying when he denies Islamist influence in his speeches, stressing: “The army is the Islamists’ army. And Al-Burhan is just a puppet moved by them as they wish.” He said Al-Burhan should first announce the meeting itself before speaking of its outcomes. But “the terrorist National Congress Party prevents him.” On Hemedti’s earlier statement rejecting negotiations—“No more Jeddah talks”. Alaa Al-Din Naqd explained: “Tasis has always affirmed in its documents that negotiations are the only way to stop the war. But they must address root causes to make this the last war in Sudan. Not just a temporary pause before another conflict.”
Asked whether Tasis would accept an invitation from the U.S. envoy, Naqd replied: “Any invitation or effort to stop the war. Built on correct principles, identifying the real spoilers of peace, is welcome. Anyone seeking peace cannot refuse such efforts. This is the primary goal of the Tasis government: to end the war and achieve peace.”
