Guterres: Sudan’s Civilians Are Slaughtered and Silenced, Impunity Fuels Chaos – Khartoum Highlight
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said civilians in Sudan are being slaughtered, starved, and silenced. While women and girls face indescribable violence. He stressed that impunity is the root of chaos. Which fueling some of the world’s worst conflicts.
Speaking at the opening of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Guterres said: “There is no military solution to Sudan’s crisis ” . He urged all parties to end foreign support that sustains the bloodshed. The UN chief underlined the urgent need to press for civilian protection. Saying the Sudanese people deserve peace, dignity, and hope. UN Secretary-General praised recent diplomatic initiatives by the United States and others. Highlighting the importance of securing a ceasefire as a step toward a just and lasting peace.
